Children can climb on the Eglwyseg limestone escarpment. Looking down on the Dee Valley…and Dinas Bran Castle…. great sense of place geographically and historically.
A roped climbing day can start with the group learning how to move safely on rock (bouldering). Learning to look after each other and develop eye-hand, eye-foot co-ordination.
Moving onto working as a team on roped climbs, coping with challenge, decision making and sequential thought. Children develop empathy for one another and effective communication.
Scrambling involves scaling rocks together, not too high and no need for ropes…just a helmet. Children enjoy working and moving together, developing balance, co-ordination, a positive mind-set and so a sense of success.
